5. Drill a ¼” hole on the inside of the drawn line near one corner. Using the Dremel tool, route out the plastic INSIDE the line. Test fit often! Be careful! The Dremel tool cuts VERY quickly! Use the file to remove the remaining plastic and to clean up the edges. When you can insert the bezel with a little drag then your done! Don’t make it so tight that you can’t get it out! The day will come when you need to remove or add a switch. See Fig.4 for the completed hole.
6. Insert the bezel in the hole.
7. Route the wires from the devices the switches will control to the console and bring them through the appropiate switch bezel hole. Label each wire as you run it so you know what it is! See Fig. 5
Fig. 5
8. Strip the wire ends 1/4" and crimp the 1/4" female terminals on to them. Connect the wires to the switchs making SURE you write down which wire goes to which terminal #!!! See Fig. 5. Note your wire colors may differ. A SPTP switch is shown.
9. To each lighted switch, attach a ground wire from the ground harness. It goes to terminal #7 of the switch. Failure to connect this wire will result in the switch not lighting when power is applied.
10 . Remove the screw shown in Fig. 5A. Place the ring terminal from the switch ground harness under the screw and tighten firmly.
11. Gather your switch wires into a bundle and use the wiring loom and wire ties to make a neat bundle. There is enough loom included to protect them all. Route this bundle so as not to interfer with the operation of the shifter or pedals. Kepp it away from high heat and sharp edges.
12. Insert each switch into the frame and press till it’s firmly seated. Insert blank switch plates or the other switches into the frame to cover the holes. See completed bank in Fig. 6.
13. Replace the screws in the shift console. Mount the center console and replace the 4 screws.
