I acquired this 9/63 502 from E-Bay a couple of months ago and probably paid too much for it. ($31.00) However I bought it as a birthday stove so was willing to go a little over normal value...

When I got the stove, I had to oil the pump leather as it was dried out completely. A quick pump up and I had some pressure. I did notice a bunch of crud in the burner ring pack, but being excited, that didn't stop me from pouring fresh fuel in it and trying to light it! As expected, it did not perform very well with the crud in the burner. It also would not hold pressure (bad filler cap gasket) AND the check valve was leaking. (The pump would push back out after pumping if you held your thumb over the pump rod hole.) but it did light! So on with the tear down and cleaning.
