Fusible Links FJ40/45 1958-9/71 FJ40 w/30A Amp Meter The 1958 to 9/71 FJ40s did not come from the factory with ANY form of protection for the main power circuit. This is a disaster waiting to happen. This kit will allow you to easily add a fusible link to your early Cruiser to help protect it from a fire caused by a short in the main power wiring. This kit is VERY easy to install. 10/1971-8/1978 FJ40 w/30A Amp Meter Complete kit (Save $6.95 over separate prices) Includes an OEM style fusible link and adaptor assembly. (The OEM fusible link connection at the battery side was molded into the battery post clamp. Most OEM battery cables have long since been replaced so this kit comes with an adaptor that plugs into the fusible link and goes to a ring terminal so it can be attached to the battery post clamp bolt.
NEW!!! Emergency/Temporary Testing Link for10/1971-8/1978 FJ40's w/30A Amp Meter So what is this thing? It's a fire preventer, harness saver, whatever you want to call it. This came about as a result of me melting the main charge wire of the brand new FJ40 wiring harness I was building for myself. I had partially installed the harness into my FJ40 to check some wire lengths and other things. It was connected to a full size battery, and no I did not have the fusible link installed... I had the Amp Meter terminals shorted together using a large metal clip. Like an idiot, I left everything connected and left the garage to go get a Amp meter. When I came back, smoke was pouring out of the harness! What had happened was the metal clip holding the Amp Meter wires together had sagged down and touched the body basically dead shorting the main charge wire to the battery. Fortunately the harness was not taped, so the heat damage was limited to the main charge wire. I had to disassemble the entire harness and replace the charge wire from Amp Meter to battery... So, to prevent this from happening in the future, I came up with this thing. It basically plugs in just like a fusible link, but uses a cheap 30A fuse instead of a fusible link. Perfect for working on the truck without blowing the much more expensive fusible link. It can even be used in an emergency to replace the fusible link to get you home. Note: A fusible link can handle much larger current flow for a much longer period of time before blowing compared to a AT style fuse which blows very quickly. If you do use this for emergency replacement of the fusible link, try to keep the number of things turned on to the absolute minimum so the fuse does not blow.

10/1971-8/1978 FJ40 w/30A Amp Meter Harness Connector Only If you are missing the OEM fusible link harness connector (the MALE connector on the White/Blue wire coming out of the harness on the passenger side fender well) from your harness, you can add it easily to get back the easy to replace OEM style fusible link.
If you need just the FEMALE connector to repair the link itself:
10/1971-1981 FJ40 w/30A Amp Meter Battery Side Connector Only Just need the battery side connector and wire for the fusible link? This is a 6" 10ga wire with a battery bolt ring terminal and the proper terminal to plug into the fusible link assembly. If you need a longer wire to reach a custom battery configuration just ask for it.
9/78-1981 FJ40 w/50A Amp Meter one square 2 pin connector, and two square 1 pin connectors (PLEASE look at the picture closely! If your link is different ie has the round connectors, this replacement will NOT work! See Below!)
Early 1982 FJ40 w/50A Amp Meter and three ROUND connectors (PLEASE look at the picture closely! This link is unique in that it uses three ROUND connectors! One 2 pin connector, and two single pin connectors. If your link is different ie has one or more square connectors, see the above links for the FL78-82 or the FL82-83! This is a replacement link with all three NEW connectors!!! This fusible link is unique to early 82 FJ40's!
Late 1982-83 FJ40 w/50A Amp Meter with one square unique two pin connector, and two round 1 pin connectors (PLEASE look at the picture closely! If your link is different ie has the square connectors, see the above link above! This is NOT a replacement link with new connectors!!! If you have this style link: I can NOT get the 2 pin square connector for this link! I can get the two round single pin connectors new. If you have this style AND have all three connectors, I can REBUILD this link. You must send me your old fusible link connectors and I will replace ALL wires and terminals with new, and place them into your cleaned connectors.
