My Cruiser came to me with a single drivers side jump seat mounted on the passenger side... See Fig. 1. The other seat was missing entirely. Mounted to the cargo floor in front of the drivers side wheel well was an aluminum ammunition box missing it's cover. See Fig. 2.

While poking around on E-Bay one day I came across a pair of jump seats for the early Cruiser and bid on them. I actually won the set for next to nothing. Shipping actually cost more than I paid for them! Ironically I got another drivers side seat in fair condition and a passenger side that was in bad shape and had the seat cover already off. See Fig. 3 ... Might have to replace that jute seat material? :-)

While I was rebuilding the tub with new wheel well tops I decided to duplicate the factory soft top mountings including the seat mounts. This involved a lot of work making all the backing plates and such. See here for details of that. Anyway Fig. 4 shows me testing the seat mounts. It's now months later and I can start on the seat frames. I started by stripping off the covers and setting them aside as patterns for new covers.
